James E. Fulton, Jr., M.D. Ph.D. is a leading researcher, cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist. His professional commitment to researching and treating acne began as personal impetus, having suffered with acne through most of his childhood and twenties.
Dr. Fulton has developed pharmaceuticals and skin care products for some of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the world, including benzoyl peroxide for the treatment of acne. His compassionate research drove him to found the first-ever skin care line for acne prone skin, and in the 1980s Dr. Fulton was the first person to conduct non-comedogenic ingredients testing. Many of his colleagues refer to Dr Fulton as a "Renaissance Man" because he is constantly on the leading edge of new breakthroughs in product development and dermatological cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Fulton graduated from Tulane University Medical School in 1965, and received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Miami in 1972. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and American Academy of Dermatology and is board certified. Dr. Fulton publishes frequently in peer-reviewed journals, and speaks at dermatology & cosmetic surgery conventions. His latest book is Acne Rx.
