Brush Basics
In Stock Quickly cleans and sanitizes makeup brushes for your next use and great for travel or the gym. The quick drying alcohol and witch hazel formula contains conditioning ingredients to moisturize brush hairs preventing breakage. Antiseptic grapefruit oil and grapefruit seed extract destroy bacteria growth, any residue is non-sensitizing, non-phototoxic and will not cause adverse reactions on facial skin. Spritz the brush with cleaner (Botanical Brush Cleaner) and then wipe on a towel. Brushes are ready for your next application. Periodically wash makeup brushes in mild soap or shampoo and water. Put soap or shampoo in the palm of your hand and under tepid running water work the brush head in the suds. Do not press the brush head into your hand but gently wash the brush head on each flat side until clean. Press the brush head flat in a clean towel or wash cloth to regain the flat original brush shape. Lay on a counter with the brush head extending over the side so brush may dry naturally. Drying brushes straight up allows them to fan out like a star burst over time shortening the life of your make up tool. A little hair conditioner can help the brush hair if becoming dry. Do not leave brushes soaking in water. 16fl.oz.

Q. I've heard that not washing your makeup brushes can cause your skin to break out. Is this true?
A. Oil from your face and old makeup can get trapped in the bristles of your brushes and cause bacteria to grow, which can lead to breakouts. The best way be clean; wash makeup brushes once a month by lathering wet bristles with a brush cleaner or a bit of baby shampoo. Rinse brushes well and allow them to dry standing up (use a blow dryer to speed thins up). If your brushes have wooden handles, let them dry flat on a towel (leaving them vertical can cause moisture to leak into the handles and lead to warping) or use a spray-on product that can be applied directly to the bristles and then wiped off. Don’t share makeup brushes (or makeup) with friends—anything that touches your skin, eyes or lips can spread bacteria.
