The story behind the brand.

In 1999, skincare industry veterans Robin Silber-McGee and Ange Gerhart took the first steps toward launching a makeup line that would meet the demands of discerning women.

In order to learn about the wants and needs of cosmetics users and to select the attributes of their new line, they created living laboratories, advanced skincare boutiques complete with innovative products and services. After three years of focus groups, Ange and Robin learned that pharmaceutical-grade antioxidants, vitamins C, A, K, E and green tea extract worked to prevent free-radical damage and improved the health and condition of the skin. They also determined mineral-based makeup provided the best coverage and UV protection.

After innumerable hours of research and gathering feedback from aestheticians, Robin and Ange began cultivating the best attributes of innovative products lines. The team selected the best quality pharmaceutical grade ingredients and the most fashionable colors and packaging, creating a makeup line that was both skin-nurturing and current with the latest runway trends.
