The Power of Vitamin A Skin Conditioners

Vitamin A Information

1. Helps to reverse sun damage or photo-aging by making the superficial (epidermal) cells divide rapidly and produce biologically younger cells.
2. Softens fine lines and reduces wrinkles by promoting new collagen formation.
3. Normalizes color (hyperpigmentation) by causing dispersion of accumulated melanin deposits.
4. Eradicates some early pre-cancerous actinic keratosis and makes others more easily identifiable so they can be destroyed without surgery, chemical peeling or cryosurgery using liquid nitrogen.

Cleanse and dry the skin thoroughly. Apply a nickel size amount of the Vitamin A skin conditioner to the palm of one hand, and then apply the lotion to your face using the finger tips of the other hand.

During the initial use of the Vitamin A skin conditioner, apply every other night for one week before increasing your usage to every day. This allows the skin to become tolerant of the product; thus minimizing possible side effects redness, scaling, etc.

After your skin becomes tolerant of the product, you can increase the concentration of the Vitamin A by applying daily and eventually moving to next strongest product.

Once you are using the Vitamin A daily, you need to be aware that you may sunburn more easily. Make sure to always use sunscreen when exposed to the sun or outdoors. Apply a sunscreen of 15 SPF (Sun Protection Factor) or higher at least 20-minutes before sun exposure. The sunscreen must be reapplied every two hours after swimming.

• Vitamin A may cause your skin to have a dry flaky look for a short period of time, as well as a rose glow. This must be tolerated in order to achieve results. The length of this stage will depend upon your skin type and the care you give it. Rest assured, this is a passing phase. To alleviate this side effect; you may use the Day Treatment Lotion, Allantoin and/or Alocort.
• Increased epidermal turnover will be evident in 8 to 12 days after initial use of product, or by a slight peeling of the skin.
• Significant cosmetic improvement of fine lines usually requires two to four months of Vitamin A usage. However, acne improvement often begins as quickly as two to four weeks after starting the Vitamin A treatment and a lightning of the pigment may appear after two months of treatment.
